  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone, the first of many posts I hope.
I just picked up a Coupe 3.8 Red

.

I was wondering if anyone if having trouble with the bluetooth?
It functions correctly as far as making a call and downloading all necessary info from my 3g, but the reception on the other end is awful.

I have tried everything to try and make it clearer for them to hear, but nothing seems to work.

Any help would be great.

The owners manual states a few things that might degrade the call quality. I sometimes have issues with people not being able to hear me too. I roll up the windows and slow down a bit and this seems to help.

A Bluetooth speaker-phone inside a running car is probably an inherently bad idea. The mic is going to pick up all kinds of ambient sounds. If you really want Bluetooth, it would be advisable to get one the units that sit on your ear and have the mic closer to you.

In theory that is correct, however, I've found the bluetooth in the Genesis to be exceptional. I've used a Plantronics 510 for years as it is one of the best on the market, and people are telling me my Genesis sounds better.

I was frustrated with the bluetooth in my coupe at first but it is just a matter of learning to use it. After you learn to use it properly you wont sound "staticy" however you will always sound like you are on speakerphone.

1. Don't shout, the car will distort your voice. Just talk at a normal level.

2. Talk directly ahead, Hyundai designed this bluetooth to work best if you are looking at the road ahead, if you talk into the mic it will sound horrible for the people on the other end.

Hope that helps!

I will give it another shot and report back.

Thanks for everyones suggestions.
