Bluetooth switches from handsfree after 15 minutes

Handsfree works great - for about 15 minutes. Then it automatically switches to the phone. Took me a while to figure it out, but amazingly it is always at the 15 minute mark.

The person on the phone can hear me, but I can't hear them. I switch back to the phone and then put it back to handsfree and it works great - for 15 more minutes.

I got a new phone - same thing.

I am using an Iphone 5s.

Any idea how to cure this, besides end conversations at 15 minutes?

have had similar probs (2011 4.6 tech & ancient Sanyo Katana) where BT drops and goes to handset but never timed it. have noticed that it seems to happen almost exclusively in 3g/LTE crossover regions, but purely anecdotal - nothing particularly scientific/definitive. my iPhone 5s (iOS 6.0.x thru 7.0.3) has never done this.

This happens to me everytime. I end up just talking on speakerphone for the rest of my call. I have no idea why.

This Just happened to me for the first time. Has anybody figured out how to fix this?
