when I log in , this is one of the pages I get mostly..... Im using genesisowners.com and have no blockers on. Ideas how I can get to the homepage? Ive cleared history & cache multiple times.... Tks!




PS im also now not getting email notifications and was receiving message that I need to be approved along with my posts.

Safari. FYI - for this post , I did get the email notification. Hit the link in the email and it brought me here:



I then logged in an got this:



I then had to hit the notifications envelope , upper right, to get the notification link and then hit that to get to the post.

Don't pay any attention to that URL anymore (genesisowners.com/genesis-forum/threads/53591/) - it was the post you deleted and it's been moved to an area that only I can see. Attempting to access an area that only I can see will give the error you're receiving.

Also, regarding your email, you can send me a direct message by clicking my username and selecting the "Send direct message" option.

If you check the link in the email, it brings you directly to the topic that I moved out of the public sphere.

I will look into the direct message issue tomorrow. I am away from my office today.

Thank you. Okay, so first - the ability to "DM" somebody (direct message - which is the "conversations" option with this software) does require a new member to be here for a bit. It's an automatic upgraded based on a few algorithms such as how long you've been signed up, the number of messages you've posted without negative reactions, and a few other behaviors that the system watches for. This is an unfortunate evil as otherwise we have people signing up and sending messages to our members with malicious links - all behind the scenes. If a new member needs to contact me directly, I can always be reached by using the familiar "contact us" link in the footer.

As for the other issue - the only time I've seen this happen - and it has been EXTREMELY rare - the only way to remedy it was to clear browser cache and cookies related to genesisowners.com, restart the browser, and start over (log back in). I know you've already done this but it may be worth another try. Over the years, this has happened to me as well. For some odd reason when I would log in - I'd be taken to a specific discussion thread - and in this case it would be a problem because the thread is gone...

I've been running forums for most of my life - so I've seen it all - and there IS a possibility that if clearing cache and cookies does not work - we'll need to create a new account for you. That is amazingly rare - but over all my years running forums - it's happened a few times. Looking over your account I don't see any obvious issues that would be causing this problem. It may just be an anomoly...

so I deleted the history again and logged in and got the oops page. I used the link in the email notification I received from your reply. I delete history & cache, in safari, ( but this also happens in Firefox - not my default browser, but where I tested the issue too) by pulling up my history page and searching for anything with genesisowners in the address and I delete them. I also go a step further and go here to clear everything here:




Something I thought a little weird, but so you know in case I didnt mention - when posted my 1st thread, I was allowed to do so before I had registered. I typed up the thread and hit post. I think the next message was that I had to register - so I did. But, I never saw that post. So I made another after I had registered. But it seemed like the system kept on sending me the one that was not approved. I tried to delete it, but saw no delete button. do I made then title "Delete"... Sorry for all the craziness but not sure what to do. Tks for the update on the PM.

In the first image with Cloudflare - you only see that when not logged in. My assumption is that when you arrived here after clicking the link in email, you were posting as a guest (which needs approval before going live - unless you login directly afterwards).

Let's start there and let me know about any further issues.

Sal, no matter where I am on the site, I'm taken to my very first post every time I log in. You recommended the same remedies when I brought it to your attention in May. They didn't work for me, so now I just deal with it. Fortunately, everything is fine afterwards.

I then had to go to my notifications , by my profile name , upper right, to click on the Board help thread. Hope this helps..

Thank you. I have a support ticket in with the software vendor to find out why this happens and how to prevent it from happening. I will write back with what I learn...
