  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the Genesis family, just purchased a 2015 3.8L v6 Base. (Yeah, not the R-Spec) with 6,000 miles on it for $18k. Considering I have a credit score of zero (Yes, literally zero, not "No credit" but an actual zero score, it's possible. I'm 23 by the way with only one previous line of credit which didn't go too well). Anyway I had two concerns I'd like addressed.

I haven't noticed an ability to change is the text in-between the guages. Currently it's stuck on the ODO (trip). I know how to change it between trip/total but I'm wondering if there's any other information I can show. Average MPG? Miles til empty? Those would be lovely, especially the latter.

The clutch is difficult for me coming out of first gear. I've probably stalled the poor car 15 times in the last 24 hours. (I've put nearly 250 miles on it though, trying to get used to the clutch). Once I'm rolling I can shift so smooth that you'd think it's an auto, but I can't help having to either ride the clutch a bit on launch, or I'll stall. I've read a lot of posts about this though, so typical same story that I've seen no solution to other than "You'll get onto it" but I'm wondering if anyone knows of any clutch upgrades that could make this a little easier. I've driven dozens of manual vehicles through my life and I've never stalled before now, not even when I first tried stick.

Also, not a question, but the traction control, holy ****. The first time I went WOT I almost slammed my face into the steering wheel when I shifted from 1st to 2nd. I've read that it's intrusive, but that was a whole new level of nuts.

Yes, you can change the info shown on the screen. Sorry, I no longer have my '15 Coupe to refer to, but it's a very basic procedure. Get an owner's manual if you don't have one already.

The car is notorious for tricky clutch operation when starting out, more so than the many others I've had. It catches at a different point. You'll get the hang of it.

You'll also learn to automatically disable the traction control (but NOT the stability control!) when you start the car. Use it only in adverse conditions. And don't envy us who switched to the sedan - when I disable the traction control now, I can't use the speed control! But with the automatic tranny, the traction control is not as bothersome. I leave it alone except for spirited driving, when I won't be using speed control anyway.
