  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bought my 4.6!!!with 4500 miles?

The 100K starts at your purchase new, not 0 miles. If you car had 67 miles on it when purchased new, your coverage would end at 100,067 miles.

It really depends on where you are and since you wanted the black on black, you paid for a rare vehicle. I just purchased my 4.6 black on black and ended up paying 500 over sticker (although that included the tint, and a few oil changes and free detailing for a year, and a few other things) I searched many dealers in the country for the specific vehicle and waited months to find one. I came across a demo with almost 9000 miles on it and they wouldn't come down below 40,000... I walked with that. I was contacted by a salesperson in a dealership close to me and was told if I was willing to budge on color that I coud save about 3,000 dollars off sticker... I told them to call me when the color I wanted was located and three weeks later they did. Most of anyone that got a black on black paid for it. So I wouldn't fret, you got the car you wanted and didn't "over-pay". There is no such thing as a reall good deal with the sticker as they are already sold with very low mark up to keep the price down in the range they originally said. I could have gotten a ford/lincoln for about 8,000 of the sticker if I wanted one... I have even seen dealers that won't sell the 4.6 w/ tech for less than 3,000 OVER sticker... so know you got a great car in the color you wanted, and mileage really doesn't matter as long as the car felt to you as new!

if you knew any better, dealers dont like flatbedding or trailering..the cost to do that is alot steeper than you think, alot.
My dealer had to flatbed my car about 300 miles (they also had to flatbed the car they used in the trade to other dealer). My dealer offered me $500 price reduction to take the same trim level in stock (but with about 150 miles on it), but I refused and got the color I wanted and with about 20 miles on OD.

Correct, I don't know any better. Just thought maybe the dealer would have extended some sort of generosity since the first car he had a deal on was sold and he still stuck with them.

By the way, I bet the owners of Priority appreciate the way you come across to potential customers on this forum! ;)

this is a forum for opinions and to be honest, i would prefer not to have a customer like you anyway. i know the business, 4500 miles on a vehicle with an 100,000 mile warranty is nothing, explain why the h you think 4500 miles constitutes THOUSANDS off? dont be upset because you make no sense. youll be the same guy crying about what you get for your car when you go to trade it, how would you like if they wanted to give you nothing because if you think 4500 miles bears thousands and thousands off, i hope you feel the same way when you go trade it and it has about 15-40,000 miles on it or watever. please just make a lil sense of what your saying please. anything else?

For the last time from me . . . . . . . . I will say, you are correct again. This is an open forum. However, my guess is that 99% of us on this forum are not here to make money by selling vehicles and can say whatever we want without worrying about losing sleep, or money. True I am only one potential customer, but right now I am sure you need all the customers you can get.

And by the way, I never said anything about thousands off. I just don't think anyone should be expected to pay full price for something that has been used! Don't worry, I'll keep passing by Priority in Chesapeake, and any other dealership bearing that name!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I think the whole issue for the Hyundai dealers is that they have as much money in the 4500 mile cars as they do with the ones with 10 miles. Alot of dealers will rotate their demos and keep them under a couple hundred miles. The dealers will be more price flexible on the higher mileage cars, and consider the difference the cost of doing business. My local dealer complained that of over 200 Genesis test-drives had netted just four sales (this was several months ago). The value of a car, or anything for that matter, is what people are willing to pay for it!

I find this attitude from a Salesman horrific. A lot can happen to a vehicle in 4500 miles and that is why demo vehcles from reputable dealerships almost always go for a good bit less, unless the dealer is predatory and finds a patsy. A coworker of mine just bout a new 2009 5 series BMW that had over 5K miles on it and was a demo. BMW knocked almost 5 grand of the list due to its demo status. He will receive much higher end service too, including having his car picked up when it needs service and a loaner car provided while service occurs. You make this sound like an unreasonable request of of a customer. I beg to differ. Especially on a car that is so far unproven as far as reliability, resale value etc. In any event, it is just not right to call someone a bad customer. I guess Hyundai still has a ways to go with getting their heads wrapped around the customer service thing. Hyundai is still strying to get a handle on what people expect when spending "Genesis Money" for a car.

what in the world are you talking about, i was one of the first to say he should get a discount and i dont think ANYONE should pay full sticker for a car with demo miles on it, he got like 3000 off then someone came behind me acting like he should have gotten much much more, please read full thread before you reply, thanks.

iminpa, do you have a clue yourself, a beamer which i happen to own has thousands more markup then a hyundai so therefore you can take off more money 5000 off on a beamer is like 2000 off on a genesis:a great deal. dont compare actual price discounts cuz every car is differently marked up. all i do is get on here and try to interject where i see that most of you be way off base with your thinking then you get offended. give me a break, ive been salesman of the year every year ive been in the business (4) because i dont shuck and jive my customers, i tell them everything right up front so theres no room for misinterpretation, dont blame me cuz im not like those clowns yall have bought cars from. i love you all. :)

I think the "goodness" of the deal is all relative. If you can get the same car for the same amount of money with 20 miles on it rather than 4500 miles then that wasn't as good of a deal and that's all there is to it.

Doesn't mean it's a bad deal though. I mean if the warranty starts at whatever miles were on it when you bought then there's no difference there. However, there is a legitimate concern to wear and tear because who knows how hard that car was pushed while it was being demoed for 4500 miles. Those may not all be normal driving miles. So definitely, if he could get a Blk/Blk v8 by traveling a bit further for the same price with 20 miles then yes that probably would've been better.

However, there's a big IF in there. If a Blk/Blk v8 is such a rarity in that area and he'd have to travel extremely far to get it, then that would probably even things out and then you could easily say it's as good a deal as anyone else got considering the car he wanted and the location.

Glad to see I am not alone with my thoughts on this salesperson. What do you think the owner, GM, or Sales Manager of Priority would think of some of the comments?

you guys are something else, im just telling it like it is and trust me with some of the comments you guys make at times my gm or whoever would feel the same way and not just at my dealership. now respond to my point which was youll be the first one to whine about what you get for your car when you trade it with miles but feel like you should be able to "steal" one brand new with miles and the genesis is not just handed out as demos to anyone, higher ups in the management food chain may get those and my store which where the gm is part owner is not going to do anything to the vehicle abnormal, thats his money hes messing with. please understand and READ the points i make instead of copping out with the proverbial, this salesman this, this salesman that because you dont like when the dealer is on some this customer this, this customer that. play it fair and on both sides of the coin. i have contributed good firsthand info that i get on these cars to all of you when i get it, i dont get a thanks but criticize a statement that yall may make and its war. get real.

thats what i call a constructive comeback or reply instead of bashing me and taking what i said for what it is.
