  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ok, maybe kinda a noob question, but i have been looking for info on this. Im kinda savy on turbo cars, built my 95 DSM to about 400 hp to the wheels, so I'm fairly knowledgable on turbo systems. I dont care about the 'cool' sound I am interested in basic performance. I plan on doing basics intake, exhaust, ecu flash, and maybe FMI kit in the near future. Then after I pay it off upgrade turbo, injectors, etc. My question is this, is there performance gain in upgrading just the BOV? Maybe not so much in hp numbers but does it alow the car to perform better at a stock level? I know when i get the ecu flash and it ups the boost it will hold it better than stock and having the BOV on the cold side by the throttle body is better for the I/C system, but does the car run better performance wise? Like i said, maybe this is a noob question or has been discussed before but i havent been able to find it. Thanks

I'm pretty sure the BOV just keeps the turbo spinning in the same direction when switching gears. Without the BOV the air goes out the way it came and sounds the fan backwards so with it, you will be able to keep the turbo spinning in the same direction so it will be smoother when changing gears.
