Brake hold problem leads to new transmission

My '12 R-Spec has the "brake hold" function as most, if not all 2012s.

I have had a serious problem with my brakes lightly clamping while stopped, irrespective of the brake hold being engaged. Sometimes the brakes will clamp at abut 1-2 mph. causing a jolting stop.

If I stopped while the transmission was in neutral the problem did not arise. Everything was normal.

Took car to dealer. It has been a week. The dealer has been in constant contact with Hyundai tech support. All kinds of tests were performed, including a new switch for the brake hold function. Hyundai is issuing a new transmission for the "fix". Wish me luck....

So sorry to hear about your troubles. I use the auto-hold feature quite a bit also. Wishing you success with the replacement.
