  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Brake Lights (Stop Lamp) are not working. Took 2009 Genesis 4.6L to Hyundai Dealership. There was a Brake Lights Recall. My Brake Light Switch has been changed out. However, my Brake Lights are still not working. Mechanic said that the Brake Light Switch was replaced; Fuse is good. Now they said that they need to change out the ABS Module. ? I don't understand.... how is the ABS Module affecting the Brake Lights from coming on?

Never heard of the ABS unit taking out the lights. Nothing connecting the two as far as I can recall.

There is, however, a zener diode in the back (on the harness) on the '09 that can fail. It was a recall:
Brake Recall

Ask a dealer if the recall was ever done on your VIN.

Here's the TSB.
