  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all,
Anyone swap out their brakes to
1. The KDM Genesis Sedan Dynamic Edition Brake Calipers.
2. Equus Rear Discs + Calipers.
Anyone has changed the rears out to Equus?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I haven't, but from the looks of those pics, I'd wager those calipers are the same that come on the V8s/R-specs. They just have the fancy Genesis engraving on the side:) My 4.6 has those same wheels and the rotors/caliper don't look to be any bigger then mine.

Has anybody found any more information on these calipers? Highly doubt it but figure I'd ask.

The "Dynamic Edition" calipers are the Mando monoblock front calipers as seen on the 2013+ Equus. Will they fit a 1G? Yes, with matching 14.1" rotors, will require at least a 19" wheel to clear the caliper.

The Equus rear brake setup is still a single piston caliper, the rotor size is roughly the same diameter (About a tenth of an inch difference) and the only real variance being it's a vented rotor versus solid. To do this you would need an Equus rear caliper, rear caliper mounting bracket and rotor.

The Coupe Brembo rear setup would be a better choice (4-piston caliper, vented and larger diameter rotors)

If you need measurements on the calipers to see if they clear your disks, I have a set of the Mando monoblock calipers in my shed.

Yes please take some measurements of them for me. I have a few vendors that can get me the calipers. Most important dimension is the one from mounting surface to the outer most part of the caliper. Same thing I asked for on the brembos.

I like the Dynamic Caliper for the front because it has the Genesis badging on it which we all know is rare. Agree with you that the Brembos in the rear would be the best choice. All depends on what will clear my wheels.

Need to change your name to the BrakeMan!! Thanks in advance.

Will do once I get home, getting tires put on for the Dragon run next week.

My plans for these calipers was to powdercoat them with a logo, may still do it at some point when I get larger wheels.

Thanks for the measurement, again. Compared to the stock calipers these are only 3/8" thicker/deeper. Putting my wheels back on this week and take a measurement to confirm they will fit. 99% sure I have this clearance because there wasn't quite enough space to fit the even larger Brembo caliper which is another 1/2" thicker/deeper. Stock and Brembo Caliper measurements

:mad:Edit: Unfortunately was looking at the wrong dimension, these calipers are even thicker than the Brembos by 1/4". Back to the drawing board.

What performance rotors are available for these calipers, any two piece? Did a quick search the other day but something tells me you know off the top of your head.

Short of building your own from Wilwood components, no 2-pc yet.

R1 Concepts and EBC have their usual fair of slotted/dimpled/drilled/etc 1pc rotors.

If you want to tackle 2-pc rotors, I wrote these numbers down in my crib notes:

Rotors: 160-8402 (RH) / 160-8403 (LH)
Hats: 170-8589

From my measurements of the Equus rotors and the specs on those, I felt pretty confident they would work. Wilwood also offers a carbon-ceramic rotor in that same size/line.

Hi does anyone know if the front brake calipers on the
2012 5.0, 2012 3.8 different?

I know the front discs are different size.
The 2012 5.0 has 13.6 inch rotors. the 3.8 has 13 inch rotors.

Are the brake calipers different as well?
They are both 4 piston.
