  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Need the following info:
  1. Model Year
  2. Miles on odometer
  3. Approximate New Purchase Date (provide the manufacturing date from sticker in driver door jamb if you don't know)
  4. Date you purchased it (if purchased used)
  5. Miles driven since purchased used (if purchased used)

2011
20,000kms
Purchased in march
2000 kms
Dont have date manufatured at the moment

Why?

I don't recall anyone on this forum mentioning that problem before, but maybe I missed it (might want to do a Google search). If the car is still in warranty (not sure how long the Canadian warranty is), then take it the dealer. If they don't fix it, I would file a case with Hyundai Canada (and send them the video).

Why did you ask all that info?
  1. Knowing the model year can be very important, because not all Genesis years are the same and changes have been made to various components, especially in this case the Anti-Lock braking HECU.
  2. To determine if car was in warranty. If it is warranty, sometimes there is not much use speculating about the cause or resolution and it should be taken to the dealer immediately (especially if it involves brakes). But I can see that if the car is out of warranty, it might be good to try and figure out if there is a simple solution first.
  3. I would prefer to know whether someone recently bought the car (new or used), or has had it for a long time. Sometimes original owners make mods to the wheels (non OEM oversize rims) or brakes, or other items of the car. They may have left those changes installed, or reversed them, but the changes could be the cause of the problems.

I don't know why you would not provide that info upfront since it helps those trying to give you good advice. Sometimes people seem like they ashamed of buying a used car. No one should ever be ashamed of the car they drive, so long as they can afford it.

I think it's under warranty. Take it to a dealer for the fix.

Yes it is under warranty. Canada has a 100,000km warranty. I will take it back to the dealer but its a long weekend so it is closed until tuesday. Ive had them look at it once and they couldn't replicate the noise. Now its louder and constant. Im just wondering if anyone has any ideas to help me until I get an appointment.

Dealers saying they can't replicate a problem is standard procedure for most Hyundai dealers. You must put pressure on them, and open a case with Hyundai Canada if there is any dealer resistance to fixing it.
