  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hell All!
I have a 2012 4.6 sedan and am having a problem that won't go away. Every morning when the wife pulls out of the driveway the brakes squeal like a banshee. It usually only does this pulling out of the driveway, then nothing. Recently it will do this after the car has been parked while she is at work. Its never constant though. We have replaced both front and rear rotors and pads with decent results only for a day or two.

Please, if anyone has ideas of what the problem is, please let me know. I've been taking the car to an independent repair facility as I've kinda lost faith in the dealership as a result of them possibly padding a list of needed repairs during a previously visit. (that's another story)

Any help will be appreciated

Does it go away after a stop or two? Humid or rainy environment? Rust after sitting is common on a lot of disc brakes but more grinding noise than squealing.

Did you check to see the calipers are releasing properly?

Some metal brake pad shims between the caliper pistons and the pads and a reasonable amount of copper grease between the shims and pads should help.
