  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I recently got new tires, and took the car for an alignment the next day. I asked them to take a look at my brake pads to see what the wear was like and was told that my pads are worn, and the rotors need replacement in the front. Rear pads still have something on them but should be replaced. So one I'm wondering why the dealership didn't let me know that my front brakes were in the condition they were in when I took it for regular service 3 weeks ago. Second I'm wondering if anyone has gone with aftermarket rotors instead of factory, and was there a difference noticed in performance.

Either the dealer did not inspect your car fully (which would be weird, why would they pass on charging you double what the cost of new brakes were). Or the alignment shop is just telling you you need new brakes to make money. But I am assuming that you are having some problem with the brakes or you would not have had them inspected.

How many miles do you have on those brakes?
Keep in mind that shops make a lot of $$ on brake jobs, which are often not needed.

Exactly. I had been hearing more squeaking lately when stopping which I was thinking to most likely be the indicator on the brake pads that they are getting low. So I asked them to look to confirm.

Approx 68K.

Likely overdue for replacement with that kind of mileage.

Does anyone have a source for the aftermarket rotors for a 2019 G90 5.0?

You might think about going OEM
Its a heavy vehicle and the front rotors are very susceptible to warping

Years ago I went with aftermarket rotors on my Hyundai Equus and it didnt serve me well

There may be plenty of good aftermarket available...but I would go for the heavy duty/better specs units

Hello all my first post here. I purchased a one previous owner 19' G90 Premium around 65K miles. I'm not at 70K. We started hearing squeaking in our breaks a couple of weeks after purchase. So I took back to CARMAX, they inspected the breaks said they have little more than half brake life remaining. Also they couldn't replicate the noise that I heard once I got a block away from leaving. So fast forward a month we are now feeling pulsating when braking at highway speeds. Took to my local Meineke shop, they replaced the rotors and breaks. squeaking stop but pulsating came back. So took it back to them and they were blown away of how the rotors had warped and had hot spots on them. They asked if we went to a track. SMH! No driving around town occasional Interstate. So, they proceeded to change them out again along with the rear because they were also bad. To no avail same thing happened when the replaced and test drove it, pulsating came back. So, the manager has been really good with trying to get the issue fixed. finally, yesterday they figured it out. Even with the higher quality rotors and brakes they went with OEM. It was explained to me that the way the rotors are seated in the hub they were not flush causing the warping and pulsating. So hopefully this fixes my issue. Should be picking it up today,

I need front pads and rotors too. I'm going to use OEM. Anyone have a good place to buy those?

I need OEM front pads and rotors as well.
Can anyone suggest where to buy these?
