  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When braking the car would shudder. Car has 38k miles. The right front rotor had hundreds of dark spots on both sides and several groves in the front of the rotor. Both side pads looked good with plenty of life left. I just finished replacing the front pads and turned the rotors on my 4.6. The shudder is now gone. I wonder if others are having these kind of issues with front brakes on their 4.6?

Thanks.

I only have 900 miles and I noticed from day one that when I first apply the brakes....the rear ones are suppose to brake first...a shudder sound. Sounds like the rotors or something is out of round. Haven't noticed it on the front brakes. Will be taking it in for a service to have it checked out.

The dark spots on a rotor usually are hot spots and can be caused by an oil or oily chemical getting on the rotor. Sometimes the spot or streak will have a dark blue tint.
