If you are tired of dusty brakes, this can be cured pretty much with aftermarket brake pads. TireRack has a good selection.

My Equus was hard on front rotors causing them to warp at 50K miles or so. No need to replace them with expensive OEM rotors now car is out of warranty for brakes. I replaced with StopTec cyro-treated rotors at $200 ea. These rotors should better resist warping.

Some of you have wondered whether or not the performance Brembo brakes offered on Genesis coupes might fit our Equus. They do not. I tried to fit them.

Equus brakes are made by Korean supplier "Mando Corporation". I compared the front oem Mando calipers to Hyundai Brembo calipers for a Genesis Coupe. Construction is almost identical. Both are made with a single casting. Mandos are a bit larger, but both are four piston. Mando and Brembo weight differences are small. Brembos do not fit the Equus.
Stainless steel braided brake lines are always an improvement over OEM rubber. To date, StopTech makes a set for the rear brakes of our Equus. It is part number 950.51502 at about $50. StopTech is a subsidiary of Centric.
 
Just out of curiosity why do they not fit the Equus? IIRC the mando calipers fit the genesis sedan as long as the wheels had enough backspacing. Bolt pattern is the same.

Nevermind I saw that the discs are larger in a different post you made. 84FordMan is right, you need the matching rotors.
