  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I realize this sounds like a joke, but it's not. When I checked the oil lever in my 2016 3.8 L Genesis AWD, I fould only the last inch of plastic left on the end of the metal dipstick
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this even a possible result of normal use ?
Thanks,
Bill

Yes, broken dip stick tips is a common issue with early 2015-2016 Genesis.

I replaced my 2015 5.0 dipstick tip with a newer 2017+ 5.0 dipstick before my tip broke. The newer dipstick tip is more flexible than my old 2015 dipstick tip; so maybe a different grade of plastic is used on the 2017+ dipsticks that hopefully do not become brittle and break.
