  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just noticed my oil dipstick was broken when I went to check my oil. I just had it changed 2 wks ago. I’m assuming the tip is in the oil pan. Will this harm my car to drive ? I have been driving it for 2 weeks unknowingly. Taking it back to the place that changed in the morning

No, it won't harm anything.
It's not the oil change place's fault. Apparently, they will all break eventually. They plastic gets too brittle. I think that the replacement dip sticks now have different plastic that may last longer.

Do you think the broken tip will come out in the oil pan?

It's floating in the oil pan. You'll have to remove and re-install the oil pan to get it out. It won't get sucked into the oil pump because it couldn't make it through the screen and it's floating above it anyway. The windage tray will keep it from getting to the crank or other engine parts.
