  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can anyone help me find a bug screen that will easily fit and be easily removed from the front of my 3.8? The treacherous love bug season will soon be upon us in Florida and I would like to be prepared.

If you spray the front with Pam the bugs won't hurt your paint because they can't stick to it. Did this once on a trip to Florida and it worked. Just make sure you wash it off every few days and reapply. If you leave it on too long it becomes kind of sticky and more difficult to wash off.

Griot's Garage also sells a removable protective film you can apply. It's not like a custom clear bra installation, but is intended for short term use like you describe. Just apply it and every once in a while remove it (and the bugs) and stick on a new piece.

I got mine from Advance Auto. Cost something like $6.95. You have to tie the elastic cord to the grommets, then spread the screen across the front of the car. The ends of the elastic cords connect to the supplied hooks. The hooks connect to any location on the front wheel wells. Works great.

Sometimes, you can find them at Walmart. I believe Auto Zone also has them.

The last time I purchased them at AA, the first AA did not have any, but the second did.

As for those other things mentioned in this thread, I just don't see it for me, as the screen goes on in 1 minute and comes off in 1 minute.

Those of you who don't live in Florida (or other Southern States) just don't know about "Love Bugs". Their two seasons are May and September.
Google "Love Bugs".
