  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

You should get in contact with vendors that deal with Korean parts/suppliers.

The G70 has been available in SK for quite a while. No way those guys aren't modding the crap out of their cars. If someone can find out who their supplier is you'll be golden.

Have you checked JunBl?
Hell no am I putting forth that much work. Ill send a short email to their 'contact me' page but thats about it besides browsing forums and youtube

Ive seen Jun's stuff; not impressed by the exhaust which sounds like someone using a leaf blower through a soda can (hollow/tinny sounding)

To make sure this post counts as on topic: I will say Im impressed so far by the JB4 and their support. They havent been talking much on here but they are very responsive to emails and knowledgeable and its made a huge difference in my mind to whether Ill be tuning my car or not this time

LAP3 has developed larger turbos and an ECU tune to go with it for the Stinger. The car in question is over 600 whp.

From pics I've seen the G70s bay looks identical to the Stinger. So those upgrades will probably work. But they are STUPIDLY EXPENSIVE (someone reported its over $10k).

There's someone else on the Stinger forum who has swapped out to a different Turbo setup but he's having issues getting it tuned. He ran a best of mid-11s with a bad tube, if I remember correctly.

Hot damn, way too expensive!

Anyway, the reason I'm complaining here is in hopes that more American companies start producing more parts for the G70. Honestly, I'm almost considering getting in touch with a few tuning companies to offer up my car to see if they can custom fab a turbo exhaust manifold + downpipe combo so I can bolt up some GT2560R's, then maybe they could make it into a kit or something.

Anyone in Canada purchase one yet?
Did you guys get hit for duty and taxes?

Ok...spring is coming, summer wheels/tires are on. I decided to run a few 0-60 to see if I can get better results than before.

I still have more than half tank of fuel, but it's getting better (should I say lower? LOL). Map 5, ~30% E85+92 octane pump gas.

Ladies and gentlemen! we have a winner! 0-60 in 4.42 sec. :alright::applause::spoton:

What was your previous best?

What was your previous best?

It was 4.68 sec. still on all season tires. I'm learning how to launch better now.

In case folks don’t know...that’s a G80 Sport.

Yeas, yes....I requested to move this thread from G70 section to Burger Tuning JB4 Discussions and Support section. So people can easily find it.

Anyone posted an independent 0-60 and dyno chart on a JB4 with the G70 yet? Wondering what the real world gains are now that people are starting to tune in the wild.

^ no dyno...but about 4.1 seconds on Map 3 with 99 octane.

Probably even quicker actually...but f’ing impossible to launch with the RPM limiter.

What are you going to try next?
K&N drop-in filters might give you an extra 5hp or so.
Have you tried that Map6 that lets you set boost over stock based on RPM?
Maybe 6.5psi instead of 6psi over stock and tapering to 5.5psi at high rpm!

Nothing. I’m done. It’s a leased car. It is so fast it literally makes me nauseous.

I’m happy as is :drive:

I'll be doing dyno comparisons on my car after certain upgrades. It's gonna be a few months before I really start getting into performance items, though. Planning on using a JB4 with water injection, but it depends on whether or not I can use it with a full aftermarket exhaust (ie downpipes, midpipes, and cat-back) without throwing any sort of CEL.

CEL will come from the downpipes. No sensors on the mids. You could use HFCs on the downpipes to eliminate that concern.

Planning on using HFC's on both down and mids. What about an over boost CEL?

Awesome will await eagerly to see what the HP/TQ lines look like... I’m hoping the first halves of the curves see noticeable gains and that it’s not just in the mid/upper range.

Hopefully people can post more 0-60 and 5-60 times if they are able to benchmark them.

4.1 is great, I guess I was hoping for a bit better as that is just matching the new M340i’s time.

When you say the tranny is the weak point and RPM limiter is the issue what exactly do you mean? Is there no launch control to allow you to break torque it? Is it an issue of 1st gear in manual mode shifts too early/slow?

What he means is that when you are using launch control, it doesn't allow much boost to build during power braking. It seems it will, at most, let you rev up to 2500 RPM while power braking, and when you launch there is like a split second of hesitation before it really starts to go.

Other launch control software in other cars launches HARD. The G70 and Stinger, not so much. It's a big disappointment. Kind of just feels better to floor it from a standstill w/out even power braking.

Hopefully the aftermarket will solve this.

I think you are referring to the X-Drive.. That's what the Car Wow dude got from what I remember.. . actually 4.2 and 12.6. The BMW pro race driver did similar with a regular m340i .. but that should be compared to a pro driver in a Genesis and without Hyundai screwing around sticking 87 in the tank which is something they probably would do... LOL

Remember the fatass Stinger regular RWD did 4.4 and 12.9 with a semi pro at C&D.. and the 5-60 was 5 flat which is fastasfuck..... so you can sort of deduce what is possible IMO. And all this on a very first attempt engine and chassis ??? I mean... think about it for a minute.

With LC...the car will not let you rev over 2,200 RPM. Without LC...won't let you rev over 2,000 RPM. They only way I was able to get a bit higher is LC and starting in manual mode. So 1st gear let me rev to 2,500 RPM...but launching that way and then quickly dumping into auto is kinda hard (I would rather the car switch gears).

So with that said...launching is the issue with this car. But from a rolling start...this thing is brutally fast.

I see no problem going against the new M340i (when it comes out) from a rolling start. Unless they stick a JB4 on the BMW of course.

I obsess with this stuff...and need to stop. I am enjoying it now...and I know what it can do when someone wants to play :) All these LC starts probably take a toll on everything. I'll probably never do it again.

Thanks that is a very helpful explanation! TBH I won’t be doing a ton of launches from a stop anyway but a rolling start would be much more likely. The second hesitation is a bit bothersome. Does it feel like it’s definitely transmission related or just turbo spool lag?

I reply from my experience...it is definitely not allowing the turbos to spool up. If it launched at like 3k RPM...this would be a sub 4 second car on Map 3 with higher octane.
