  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Of course. I'll test the extensions out by themselves, then I'll install the JB4 with them spliced. I'll post my results.
Can you confirm that the wires are properly heat resistant ? How much did you end up paying?

I am attempting a group buy from FindPigtails. Without the GB...they are $100 USD inc shipping (not sure about Canada)...but they are confirmed very heat resistant and 6" in length which I think is better. They also already have the "red" wire spliced out for you...so all you do is connect it to your JB4 Fuel Wire.

We have 5 folks (inc myself) right now. Who knows if we get more. Perhaps that will get us 10% off as of now? Will find out next week.

I’ll be out the group buy as i went the same route as Toddassorus. Cheaper and made more sense for me being in Canada.

Is that price for both required harnesses?

I paid $55 USD for both extensions shipped.

They look pretty decent, but I figured the best way to be sure is to test them in my car, without any splicing to be 100% sure. So far they're holding up just fine sitting in that engine bay heat while I'm driving like a jackass. Still clipped in nice and tight, no loose pins or wires.

I am eagerly awaiting your test results! Just bought the JB4 and I hope to buy the harness cable you linked to as well (or Beefer's solution in case your test reveals any issues)

I'll post updates when I get my JB4, also if I run into any issues before, during, or after the install.

FYI - I've been running this for two weeks now. Zero issues so far!

Its what Beefer is working on to gather folks for a Group Buy.

You can see my post (and others) on n54Tech.com. I tried the custom extension from findpigtails.com and it seems to work just fine!!

I did a 6" extension, if they can go shorter (say 3") that would fit better.

Will Those be available to buy as an option on the Website, like the plugs... are?
That would make it easier for those buying the JB4 to get the sparkplugs and harnesses all at once.

Well I am not taking it personal...it's just I am trying to arrange this...so just ping me directly.

I just got off the phone with him...and yeah you are right...he did fup the price...but not bad. See details over at the other forum.
You need to calm down, you have control issues. He can contact them directly if he wants, with zero explanation. You're just a middle man, and while everyone here is appreciative of your hard work, the business owner probably wouldn't appreciate you acting as you own share in their company.

Your first post is to call out someone?

Oh, I didn't know post count was a determining factor in calling out someone's bullshit. Let me know how many times I have to post to tell you how I feel about you. Wouldn't want to break the laws of post count. Call the admins, this noob needs to stay in his lane........ That was my first post and this will be my last, no use in actually responding.

Sweet...good riddance.

Update. Scrap the group buy. BMS came through and made a harness. $60 for the pair. I’ll be going that route.

For those of you who have the ability to roll your own, here are the connectors. You need to order 2 sets, of course:

And the Wire:
(This one is overkill for this application, but if you want to be extra safe...)
OR (This is the wire already used for the fuel wires.)

If you can strip wires, squeeze things and poke stuff in holes, you can build these for less than $30.

21174

Same harness, with the second pic having the armor added. These cost about $10 each for parts and about 1hr each for labor. They look EXACTLY like the BMS ones. See:

They were kind of fiddly to put together, but not difficult at all. No soldering needed, but you do need a wire stripper/crimper.

I tried them both (without hooking up the fuel wires) and they work great. No error codes or anything else. I'll finish the job and hook up the fuel wires this weekend.

^ Nicely done ! To be honest...I love to do stuff like this. But I think I would just fork over $60 and have BMS do it knowing it is done correctly :)

lol, "To Be Honest..." It's kinda hard to screw up. Each pin is numbered on both sides of the connectors. Just wire each to the same numbers. It turns out that pin #1 is the one you want to tap, so wire that one accordingly.

True...I'll see how long BMS takes to get theirs going. If too long...might do this.
