  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How much did they cost and how long did it take to receive them?

Total: 11 days. It took 6 days to process and 5 days to ship and to arrive. Just got them today.

I paid $76 and the shipping was $18.44 to Miami.

I see. I asked because Burger Motorsports recommend the Densos for use with the JB4.
Yeah cause the Denso is ultra cheap and a couple of heat ranges colder than the stock V6 plugs. So by default already safe for the JB4. The HKS is just a much sturdier plug but probably overkill anyway.
For the 2.0T, the HKS and NGK are the only colder option. The rest are all stock heat range.

Well, not the biggest deal, but buying the Densos from here would have cost you under $50 including shipping and you'd have had them in one day. I'm just two hours north of you. :p But, really, no big deal. HKS are great spark plugs...

The Denso won't fit. He has the 2.0T.

@Terry @ BMS, can you verify this to be the case? I just went over this with Ando for the Stinger's 2.0T and they apparently fit. Do they not fit for the G70?

2.0T specs are 12x26.5x16
3.3T is 14x26.5x16

BMS even sells 2 different spark plug re-gapping tools cause they are different.
There might be a Denso for the 2.0T but none in Heat Range of 9 that I could find.

Do you know if there's a difference between the Stinger 2.0T and G70 2.0T? I could have sworn I've seen Stinger 2.0T owners using the Densos. Maybe I'm mistaken...

All the 2.0T are the same. G70, Stinger, Veloster N, i30N, Sonata, Optima. The Optima and Sonata guys were using the Evo X NGK plugs back then.
The Stinger and G70 NGK stock plugs are HR8 and are slightly special since the PN doesn't correspond to NGKs catalog whereas the older variants of this engine ran HR6 and HR7.

Thank you very much, @NLJ!

Changing the subject a bit, it really grinds my gears that there are no published power figures for the JB4 on the G70 (or Stinger) 2.0T. No dyno plots, no power increase claims, nothing. It's clear that the JB4 is being marketed to the 3.3T and the 2.0 is just an afterthought. :cautious:

I'm sure it would have been the other way around if everyone bought the 2.0T Stinger - but the opposite happened - and that's where the attention is because of that. At least that's my guess.

The closest we have is numbers from the Veloster N. They have a slightly bigger turbo but the same engine. So whatever number they get, we will be around the ballpark just a little lower. But we will be able to put the power down better than them. However they are lighter.

But this product has been out (at least for the Stinger) for over a year...with NO information? Obviously they had to design it for the 2.0T...does that mean they didn't do any testing? Or does it mean that they did, but the gains are not good?

I saw your posting about this, but it's not the same...a different turbo is going to make way different numbers.

I would love to buy the JB4...they have a great reputation and have solid results on other cars, but I can't give my money to a tuning company without even a *claim* of power increase! I mean come on!

There was a Stinger guy who was testing it out for them and I don't recall exactly if his car was totalled or something else happened and he replaced it with a 3.3t instead.
Terry mentioned to me that the fuel wires were optional for the 2.0T and that it was never dynoed so the gains are not quantifiable.
But you can check the logs to see the ECU PSI and the extra the JB4 adds.
Conservative numbers are 1psi = 10whp.

I spoke to that guy (forget his name) in person at a cars and coffee. He had a JB4 on his Stinger 2.and it was totalled. He said he loved it, it added a lot of power, but he never put it on a dyno to quantify the gains.

Again, this is good info and thank you for providing it, but it's not a substitute for actual numbers.
