  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I just picked up the Genesis from the show room and when I got home I noticed a burn plastic like smell from the exhaust area. Anything I need to worry about? Didn't get this smell with other new cars I've bought before. It was driven about 50km when I picked it up.

Its probably just the coatings and/or paint on the exhaust system getting hot and 'burning-in'. Unless there are smoke or flames, I wouldn't worry about it.:D

Completely normal. Has happened on both of mine. Usually goes away between 500-1000 miles.

Another vote for normal. Not sure when it started being fainter, was at least a couple hundred miles. I'm around 1200 now and I don't believe I've smelled it recently. Goes away gradually.
