  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Hyundai bumper-to-bumper warranty just expired on my 2010 Genesis 3.8. I would appreciate any advice on whether to buy an extended warranty at this time, and from whom.

If you are the original owner, you still have a 10 year - 100K mile drivetrain warranty that covers engine, transmission, drive shaft, etc.

Base, or Tech??

Yes, you can buy an extended 10 year, 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty (I did), but it can be expensive. I recommend it for people who will keep the car for 10 years, and who bought it with the Tech, or even Premium packages (because of the very expensive to repair hi-tech items), but I'm not sure if it is worth it, if you have a base model.
Check with your dealer about cost.
