Buying a 2012 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L

Long time lurker, first time poster. On the cusp perhaps of buying a used 2012 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L. I read about the transmission problems in the 2012 but is it just for the Genesis 5.0 or could I possibly be affected by it as well? Is there anything I need checked out more then others? More then willing to Google my way to an answer but I just need some guidance as I couldn't find much first few times around.

The same transmission was used for both V6 and V8 starting in 2012 MY. Check the build date on the sticker in the drivers door jamb. At some point during the 2012 model year, it appears that Hyundai was producing a modified version of the 8-speed transmission to fix the problem. Unfortunately, I don't know the date when the change was made.
