I must start off by saying that I love my new Genesis. It hasn't disappointed me yet and I love the drive. I bought the 3.8 with tech and prem package - black/black. I thought of the 4.6 but to me it really didn't make a difference and thought I can save the extra money and use it somewhere else. I also got all the emblems changed on the car.
My buying experience at Annapolis Hyundai was nothing but excellent. I was in touch with many dealers on the east coast, including this one in Annapolis. The person I was in touch with at the dealership is George Sparks. He is nothing but professional and extremely polite to talk too. He answered all of our questions and looked for color combinations around the area to make sure we would get what we want. Other dealers were nice as well, but something about this dealership made me drive the extra hour to make a deal with them even though I got a price match from a dealer that was less than 3 miles away from my house.
I wasn't aware that this was a dealership that was under new Management. I think it was previously called Spirit Hyundai or something to that extent. The team is fairly young at this dealership. The Sale Manager, Mike and the finance guy (can't remember his name) were also very polite to deal with. Since the Management owns three different dealerships (I think they own Volvo and something else) and one of them is high-end, their team at Hyundai was well trained.
What I am about to write puts this dealership over other Hyundai's. My experience at this dealership was equivalent when I bought my BMW 5-series a few years ago. That is a pretty high mark to set, but it was great. There were a few other dealers that we went to in MD that we just walked out of because they didn't care if you didn't buy the car that day.
Overall, Annapolis Hyundai is a great dealership and willing to meet your needs. I would definitely recommend that you contact them prior to buying your car at any other dealership on the east coast - they are very competitive in their pricing and I can say you won't be disappointed if you get the same service as I did.
In case you need George's email, it is george.sparks@annapolishyundai.com
If you want to mention my name, that's fine - you can tell him that Nilay Shah recommended you. I don't get anything for this but told him that I would definitely write about my experience since I was happy.
Good luck for those looking to buy a Genesis. I must say that when I drove this car into the hospital parking lot, many co-workers were interested to know what kind of car it was etc. There will be plenty more of these on the road soon.
Regards,
Neil (Nilay)
