If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys!

I'm planning on buying a used 2016 Genesis 3.8L with the signature&tech package, with 40k miles. Also, this would be my first time buying a used car and read all the online guides. Carfax looks clean, and looks like it was recently a certified preowned

Besides the routine stuff, is there is anything on this Genesis model that you guys think would be good to check before i pull the trigger? Anything to worry about? This would only have about 1 year of warranty left, so I am a bit nervous if anything goes wrong.

Thanks! Any help is super appreciated!

I have had my 16 ultimate 3.8 AWD for less than a year and these are the problems that I have had.

1. Vibration / sound at 27 to 34mph coming from the drivetrain. Driveshaft replaced twice. Still persists.
2. Both tail lights had water in them. Replaced under warranty.
3. Drivers side seat loose in tracks- Fixed under warranty.
4. Check engine light - Evap canister defective. Replaced under warranty
5. Electronics will sometimes not shut off. Have to start and shut down engine and open and close drivers door repeatedly and it will eventually shut down. Have not had to the dealer yet because it is only intermittent and would get the typical "cannot be reproduced"

On a lighter note, the Lexicon audio is nice.

My advice is to get something else. Anything else really. Had a Jaguar prior to this which gets bashed a lot for reliability, but I can tell you it was rock solid compared to this piece of scrap metal.

That vibration / flutter that so many have complained about would be a big concern. Many are reporting it, with hardly anyone getting it successfully repaired.

Supaboyee, did you pull the trigger?
