  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I accelerate I can occasionally hear a buzzing from somewhere in the dash. in older cars I remeber this being a speedometer cable issue. Can anyone offer help on this?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Unfortunately, I'm experiencing the exact same thing and getting zero help from the dealer on this. I notice the buzz is most prominent between around 40 MPH when I accelerate. Next time I take the vehicle into the dealer I'm going to take a drive with a tech, so they can hear it as well.

It would be great to hear if others have experienced this, and whether a dealer has isolated the issue and fixed it.

Getting the same thing! When I touch anywhere around the drivers side air vent it stops. So I'm thinking something in that general vacinity is loose. I'm going to point it out to the dealer. ;)

That's interesting. I tried closing and opening the vents, but haven't tried touching the dash. My buzz seems to be coming from the center of the console, but I'll try touching the dash to see if it get's eliminated.

I love the Genesis, but it does seem like it's got quite a few bugs.

Same buzzing sound from the driver's side dash vent, close to the door.
Happens frequently, mostly when it's cold.
F'in annoying, especially in a cabin this quiet.

Quick update, so I don't think my buzzing is due to the vents. I tried touching the Dash, and it didn't stop the buzzing.

Mine sounds like its coming from the center dash/speaker area, and doesn't happen when the car is cold...

It only happens when it's warmed up around 40mph.

Had similar complaint about a new '11 3.8 premium/nav. The buzzing, sounding like a baseball card in the spokes of a bike was driving me nuts.

Then it dawned on me what was going on. Popping the hood confirmed that the large plastic engine covering that seems to cover most of the car's "guts" was resting too low on the engine, causing it to vibrate when the engine ran, vibrating, making a buzzing noise.

I bent up the corner or the plastic covering, closed the hood, and viola, no more buzz.

I have the same ticking/buzzing noise and it is coming from the ventilation system underneath the center speaker. I removed the speaker and tapped on the dash and I was able to duplicate the noise.
