  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

so i just took delivery of my new 2011 genesis with tech and premium package. all the cabin lights, trunk lights, and neither cigarette lighters work.

i looked in the manual on where these were and they weren't very descriptive on what fuse to look for.

any ideas?

Take it back to dealer. Sounds like missing fuses or dealer did not prep car correctly. Did you go over the car at the dealership and inspect it regarding all electronics, lights, switches, paint finish, spare tire and tools, floor mats and proper tire inflation? Our dealer's salesperson spent two hours with us inspecting the car and going over the operation of the nav, stereo, adaptive cruise etc.

not really, i was going to take it back tomorrow. Everything else seems to be working just fine except for the cabing lights and those cig lighters. I'm hoping it was just a simple oversight. not sure how they could have missed that if they did a true inspection.

Glad it all came out fine. Our dealer where we got the car and our service dealer are awesome too. They are on par with our past Acura dealer and that is a huge complement.

that's funny you mention acura. I had a TL i bought new in 2001. had 2 transmissions replaced and rebuilt a couple times. Acura paid for all of it which was nice but a huge inconvenience. just recently at 216,000 milles it was going out again. they wouldn't support it even though they replaced it at 104,000 miles so I said really? okay well that new Acura TL i was looking at caused me to look elsewhere and I'm glad I did. this Genesis is pretty amazing. I'm having a local guy rebuild the tranny for 2000 bucks so we can keep the car and run it for another 3 to so years for my wife to drive to and back from work. the guy guarantees his work for 2 years too....my wifes other car is a trailblazer which sucks gas. SO, i'm sorta glad acura wouldn't support it. I also leased it this time so I could get a new genesis every 3 years! :)
