  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Folks,

Curious, how is the cabin noise faring? I keep questioning myself if it is getting worse, or is same as when i got the car a year ago?

Would love to see what what type of sound decibel levels do you see in the car cabin? You can easily measure it with a Android or an IOS device/phone, there are free apps for it.

Pls indicate your Year Model & Decibel pls...at ~35 mph, and at ~65 mph, or a flat road (no bumps; normal pavement...i know, pavements vary), sunroof closed.

Thanks

For instance mine is...
2015 Genesis 5.0
~35 mph: 55 db
~65 mph: 65 db

Have you changed your tires yet? As your tread wears down, the tires will get a little louder. Are you hearing more road noise or wind noise ard the doors?

I did the same db reading, but a while ago. It fell within the range that I recall reviews stated when the car was initially tested. I will try again and post my results.

One thing I noticed (but did not measure) was a reduction in noise when I performed a thorough cleaning of the door seals (the rubber and the metal it mates).

I did not find any reviews with db reading. Would love a pointer to any of those.
Thanks
