  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is anybody else having caller ID issues on incoming calls?

I have an iPhone 4 with the latest firmware release.

The contacts sync fine from the phone to the Equus. Voice command dialing works perfectly.

The issues is with incoming calls. Even when an incoming call is listed in my phone book on the Equus, it displays on the head unit with no phone number and a contact name of UNKNOWN.

Anybody else running into this issue?

I have the same issue with the 2011 Genesis 4.6 Tech with the iPhone 4. I haven't really had the chance to look into it. But it is anoying because I have to reach for the phone everytime an incoming call is coming in.

OK, did some further testing and thought the results might help others out.

I tested the Equus with 3 different phones. My iPhone 4, and my two son's iPhone 3GS and here is what I found.

iPhone 4 with version 4.3.3 firmware:

Phonebook Sync = Perfectly
Voice Command Calling = Perfectly
Caller ID Outgoing Calls (In Contacts of Equus) = Perfectly
Caller ID Incoming Calls (In Contacts of Equus) = Contact Name - (empty), Contact Number - UNKNOWN

iPhone 3GS with version 4.3.1 firmware:

Phonebook Sync = Perfectly
Voice Command Calling = Perfectly
Caller ID Outgoing Calls (In Contacts of Equus) = Perfectly
Caller ID Incoming Calls (In Contacts of Equus) = Perfectly

iPhone 3GS with version 4.3.3 firmware:

Phonebook Sync = Perfectly
Voice Command Calling = Perfectly
Caller ID Outgoing Calls (In Contacts of Equus) = Perfectly
Caller ID Incoming Calls (In Contacts of Equus) = Perfectly

So it seems it's not related to any firmware version, but rather, it's the iPhone 4.

Hope this helps someone else.

I'll cross post this for the lowly Genesis drivers too! :p

Just got off the phone with Equus Customer Service. They were able to replicate the problem but said it was Apple's update(s) that caused this. Suggested I contact Apple, which I will, but I suggested they do the same. I suspect if Hyundai or Harmon called and said "hey you broke our car" it would get more attention than a one-off user.
Only other suggestion was to hope the next IOS update undid whatever the last one did.
