Getting familiar with the group...
OneFunGenesis' thread http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=9541 had me thinking about us Black Noir Pearl owners tips, tricks, pet-pieves, items of concern and opinions about owning and driving one of the hardest color cars to keep clean.
I'll start off with my 2011 3.8, I found going thru touch free laser washes once a week (Tuesday is super Tuesday where the wash is only $4!), skipping the drying blower and just wiping down the exterior with a microfiber towel is the best way to prevent swirls, scratches and etchings. And IMO much better than washing your car by hand in the driveway. The laser wash uses high pressure water and PH balanced soap to break up dirt and grime without the need to physically touch the car, it also includes the spot free filtered water rinse. I will admit though, somethimes this wash doesn't cut it, especially if i've been out driving through dirt roads or have excessive bug splatter, in which case I break out the hose and use the two bucket method. Also, I have found that right after the weekly wash, spraying the car down with Turtle Wax Black Detailer (bought at Wally World for $8) and wiping it down with two micro-fiber detailing cloths one panel at a time, greatly improves the gloss of the paint, and leaves a good coat of wax that lasts the week.
This is the link explaining the laser wash, for those of you that haven't seen one:

So what are your tips, tricks, opinions, questions, concerns?
Cheers!
