  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just got new tires and a 4 wheel alignment. Tire tech told me that there is no front tire camber adjustment on Genny sedan. Has any one heard this?

Previous set of tires and inside tread worn down on front tires, Dunlop OE, at 35,000 miles. Rest of tire fine.
Thank you

Yes that is correct. No camber adjustment on front.

Thank you for the confirmation.

So the front tires wear out more quickly on the inside tread due to factory set-up. Gee isn't that wonderful. Another great idea by someone. Probably done to correct a steering problem they never resolved.

Unless it is extreme, camber does not cause tire wear. Its the toe that will eat them up and there is plenty of toe adjustment. Any competent alignment shop should be able to adjust appropriately, just avoid the shops like Firestone and pep boys and u should be fine.

Fyi, very few cars have any front camber adjustments from the factory... Its pretty standard these days.

There have been many discussions on camber... I'll try to make this short, then allow you guys to read up more. Bottom line if you want someone who knows suspensions you need to go to a competent shop. Camber is adjustable, you need to know what you're doing.

(my personal preference is outside of the "target demographic" and "OEM is best" crowd...)

True. Toe is more of an issue unless your lowered but im dropped on coilovers and a friend of mine that works at the local hyundai dealer was able to get my camber and everything else rt. It just takes a competent mechanic.

You are correct in that Hyundai deliberately adjusted the suspension so its steering is more responsive during a test drive, but as soon as some moderate tire wear occurs then the tire goes to hell. But by that time, you have already purchased the car.

I am getting a slight vibration above 40 mph that disapears after moving the wheel slightly to the left. Not in the steering wheel- more like I can hear it and feel it on the floor pan.

This occured after spinning out in a snow storm last Nov. I wasn't bad until I replaced all tires, 4 wheel allighnment. (2X - brought back for recheck)

Any clue what I busted?
