  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a system that might be available that would use the existing cameras installed for the 360 view system that records.
About 90% of the cars in South Korea have added dash cameras to help the owners prove responsibility of an accident. They all share responsibility in the case of an accident even if they are not the direct cause. Due to this I’m wondering why this is not a part of the camera system. It would be a lot better than any of the aftermarket systems that I have had or looked at.
If anyone has information or experience with a system please let me know.

Because its positioned very low in the front grille, why don't you just spend 100$ and get an actual dash camera? My Camaro had the option for a Performance Data Recorded, which has a camera behind the rear view mirror and it would record lap times and telemetrics onto a SD Card, people use it for a dash camera as well, I couldn't justify the $1,300 option lol

I'm sure that there is a camera located just under the rearview mirror that is used for the lane keeping. I did pick up a dash camera but I hate having the extra wiring an a camera hanging on the windshield.

There are really good battery powered systems for under $500. It's good insurance against numbskulls who like hit and run. There 's a thread on this forum also about them.

I picked up a dual camera system with all the options, g-Force and motion detection. It works well but still don't like the extras hanging in the windows. Even have placed the camera out of the drivers full view but still looks like cheap crap hanging on a nice car.

I get where you are at, but personally I think the internal dash camera is a much better solution, especially in environments with harsh weather.

even with the mild rain and crap we get in socal, my front and rear cameras are usually useless first thing in the morning if I do not get out and wipe off the previous nights mist/dew.

You could always snake the wires up the a-pillar and add a fuse tap into the fusebox under the driver's footwell (not sure if there is a fusebox in the glovebox).

That's how I hard-wired the radar detector in my current Fiesta ST.

I have the A119 dashcam in both of my cars, as the poster mentioned above just snake the wire above the headliner and 'behind' the passenger side A pillar then underneath the floor mat. No wires dangling anywhere and it will save a lot of headaches in any crazy situation where the other driver attempts to lie their way out. I used some tape to hold the wire in place on the windshield next to the A pillar.
