Bank one:
"Bank one is on the passenger side of the engine." As you face the grill it is the left side. It is typical of engineers to label the banks based on their position compared to the crankshaft. One will be to the left of the crank, two will be to the right. On a sidewinder Hyundai, this puts bank one against the firewall and bank 2 near the radiator.
