  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi everyone. I hope you can help because so far Bluelink customer service couldn’t. I just purchased a 2016 G80. I have all the bluelink subscriptions. When I go into the “Apps”, “download center” option in the bluelink categories, I see the option to download the “alert services” app. Every time I select it, I get the message,” subscription to an optional service is required. Please contact your dealer or call 855-2-Bluelink. Anyone else seen this, and is there a solution ?

Not sure what you are looking for. I don't see any app for "alert services" Do you have either the Hyundai Bluelink or Genesis app? Can you post a link so we can see exactly what app you are talking about?

Thanks for your response, EdP. On my phone, I have both apps. This alert app must be downloaded into the car’s bluelink in order for it to work with the phone apps. Because I can’t download the app, the features are also greyed out on the MyHyundai website. The alerts associated with this app are curfew, speed, valet, and geo-fence.

Thanks for the clarification. I just checked and my car has it already downloaded. I'm unfamiliar since I've not used them but I can see with more than one driver, it could be handy.

Only thing I can think of you probably already did. Your VIN should be associated with your account on myhyundai.com for other things, like remote start and door lock, to work. Assuming those functions work, I have no idea what next.

stupid question, is your car connected to your house wi-fi?

the car has to be connected to a wi-fi to download those apps, it does not use the in vehicle LTE service for that.

.... I just purchased a 2016 G80. .....
:police: Naming convention police.... Pull over please.

Fyi, to be totally correct about things, there is no such car as a 2016 G80. If it's a 2016, then it is a Hyundai Genesis sedan.
The car wasn't called a Genesis G80 until the 2017 model year, when Genesis actually became a separate luxury line from Hyundai. ;)

. Thanks Bro. Guilty as charged.

Thanks EdP and Mr. Incredible. Hyundia had to push an update to my car in order to be able to download the app. All is well now. Thanks for your assistance.

Can you clarify the car? A 2015 Hyundai Genesis? G80 started in 2017.

I have a used 2015 Hyundai Genesis and in March will make 2 years but I can not get the Alert App to download for nothing. I see that you had that problem as well. What did you do to get it to work? Help Please!
