  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking to buy my first genesis sedan but i really like the updated bumper of the 2018 g80 sport. I went to a hyundai dealer and they said the bumper fits perfectly onto the 2015 models; not sure how true this is. Anyone have experience or know if this is possible? And if so, any idea on how much all the parts cost for the front bumper?

Thanks!

Dealer said it fits is a good start. How much is retail if you don’t mind I’m asking

There is a guy on Instagram, socalg80, that did the swap and his car is at SEMA. This is what he said:

"it was pretty easy! I thought I could reuse some stock brackets that didn’t match up so I just got new brackets I will be putting on this week. The fender liners don’t line up so they have to be cut. All small things up fits pretty good!"

Or they can just search and see that I just did this conversion like 2 weeks ago damn noobs. Oh I did complete front and rear as well as sides. its a bit more involved than what SB24 said cause they called me asking me how I got things to fit.

Didn't officially start a thread, its in the share your photos and what did you do threads they are stickyed.

If you are looking to buy from dealership without any type of discount you probably gonna be look at over 5k for just front parts. I asked cause you need about 20 plus pieces and 4 out of those 20 from a dealership cost 2700.

Just wait and buy the bumper on ebay.. they'll be on there in a few months i'm sure..

Yup Im the one who sold Richard his G80 Sport conversion. If you have any questions follow me on IG @G4werkz or @pure_g80bagged I also have pictures

Yes it will fit perfectly. I have a 2015 and bought all the parts last week to upgrad to the new 2017-18 front. I purchased everything from the dealer new except the license plate holder for the new grill. That piece was an extra $900 and is not needed here in Florida. My total cost was originally $2700 and change but the nice parts employee gave me a small discount so out the door it was a little over $2400. Keep in mind you still have to paint it. I’m going to have the dealer paint mine when I’m ready for the conversion. As a good sales person they tried to get me to purchase a new G80, even secretly called a salesman to the counter to talk me into it. I wasn’t deterred because that’s their job. I explained that I owe less then $7k on my 2015 and it only has 31k miles on it and smells new. Why would I buy a new one for $60k when I can simply upgrade the front end for less than $3k and make mine look just like the new one, saving myself $57,000.00 plus tax, tag, title and interest. I realize there are small options mine don’t has that the 2017-18 has but I can live without them.

Sure like your logic! My 2015 has 31,000 miles on it. Have you had any major problems? Just received the title on mine...you got me thinking!

oooh. I really don't like the G80 Sports front. Prefer my 2016 Sedan look. Don't like that grill look. But it's better than the Lexus front which has even more of the grill. Different strokes!

It's an easy swap, I did the front, rear and sides all in one shot. just need to be patient and make sure you seal up the headlight washer squirters if you have the AWD.

I had to replace the front brakes, which is normal wear and tear, and I have to get those two plastic strips that run the roof of the car above the door frames on both sides, repainted. They have faded and the clear coat is gone. The rest of the roof itself is fine. I have not done any research yet to see if they may be a service or recall. Those strips shouldn’t have faded in 3 years. I’ll let you know about that. Other then that, nothing. I also put another set of tires on it.

yup its a easy swap. I sell the conversion kit. Also the price of the kit depends on the trim you have. for example if you have the SSC in the front grill then you would have to buy the plastic cover... I sell mine for 2300 shipped... check out on Instagram (G4werkz) (G4werkzgallery)

I sold the kit to Socalg80

Do you still have the rear bumper available?

The parts you are selling is OEM originals? I heard that it need to replace the wheel housing as well to fit it perfectly? Does your kit require any modification?

Hi, I live in Orlando and have a 2015 3.8 without any sensors or washers or cruise. Could I upgrade to just the 2018 front bumper cover with black grill? I do not have fog lights so might need those or I can just use current inserts to fill in the space. Any help you can offer me would be appreciated.
