  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i just went to hyundaithinktank.com and asked the moderator for access to Circle pricing.
my question is: can you beat the circle price on your own or thru a broker such as Costco, Truecar, etc?
I'm assuming everyone also gets the $1500 competitor rebate.
If you actually got a price better than Circle price, can you also mention if you had a trade in, as sometimes the dealer gives you a great price on the new car in exchange for giving you a low price for your trade-in.

you're right.
i checked a particular 2011 V8, and Fitz price was $700 cheaper than Circle price (factoring in $1500 competitive rebate).
Too bad Fitz is in Florida and Eastern USA, and not here is So Cal.

Check Fitzmall.com Hyundai for the best price I've seen.

It is certainly cheaper than my prices near NC but if you currently live in FL, circle price may match or be lower than the dealer's price.

Hard to compare 2011 prices, since they have to unload those ASAP.

I have heard that Costco, Bank of America, and AMX car buying services are as good as Circle pricing (on 2012) but I don't know exactly. Probably close enough.

I suspect that on 2012's, if you are talking to a commisioned salesman, you are not going to be able to beat any of the above prices. 2011 is a different story.

Does Fitz mall price include competitive rebate of $1500? The description says it includes manufacturer rebates and incentives available to all consumers. Does competitive rebate falls into that category?
If so, then fitz price is higher than circle price: for $43,900 MSRP - $38,328 (circle $39828-$1500) vs $38,624 (fitz).
If they include comp rebate and buyer doesn't have a qualified car, do they raise the price they have online by $1500?
I hope they don't include it because $37,124 looks much better!
I'm also not sure why 2012 3.6 tech CHAMPAGNE BEIGE/CASHMERE is about $450 more than 2012 3.6 tech PLATINUM METAL/CASHMERE.

The price that I received from zag and AMEX was substantially less than the circle price quoted for my area and that is on the 2012 model

Not in Maryland.
Amex price is $40,984 (tech package) vs Circle $39,538

Probably yes. If you get ready to sign, they will probably claim that all consumers are eligible if they qualify. Remember we are dealing with car salesman. Hard to believe they could sell 2012’s at that price without including the rebate.

Yes- Fitz' price includes $1500 rebate even though in some ads it says it doesn't. I already went through that with Hyundai corporate and Fitz. The only other rebates you can possibly get are $400 for military or college graduate.
Again- I was amazed- after I emailed Fitz' online price to dealers as far as 4 hours away-two of them came back-1 offering to match and 1 offering to beat Fitz' OTD price. Bad thing was I was at the matching dealer when I got the email back from the dealer that was willing to beat Fitz(lol)!

it seems like everyone qualifies for the $1500 comp rebate. i called 2 dealers. 1 said flat out that everyone can get it.
the other asked what cars i had (audi and honda), and he said either would qualify and told me to bring a copy of vehicle registration.

Fitzmall's prices are great but remember there is $499 processing on top of their price and Circle pricing doesn't show the $1500 rebate that can be stacked on the price.

When I checked, Circle pricing beat Fitzmall by $700 or so.

Do dealers must accept Circle certificate or they may decline it if they don't want to sell at this price?
Fitz dealership claims they don't negotiate as their prices as low as they can get. Will they accept Circle price if it's lower?
Also, Circle prices differ depending on a location. Does the difference have to do with regional add fees or anything else?

What about Costco price? I haven't used one, but read it's also 3% off MSRP which makes it about the same as Circle price? Did anyone compare it?

I'm also concerned that if dealer sells at Circle price, there is no profit for dealer except volume discount, which means that he will try to pay for my trade-in as little as possible. Any points of how to negotiate trade-in value in this case?

Dealers are not obligated to accept Circle pricing for their entire inventory.

Circle pricing can vary by region if the adverstising fee varies. The advertising fee in the Southeast Region is apparently 1%, and probably the same or similar in other regions, but not sure.

Dealers probably get some kickback from Hyundai for Circle pricing, but you should always go to Carmax and get a quote from them for your trade-in, before negotiating with dealer on trade-in amount.

I don't know exactly how the Costco price compares, but the Circle price is 3% below invoice (not MSRP), subject to some other adjustments. The formula is shown in my post in this thread:

We bought a '11 4.6 (sterling blue, gorgeous color!) in Jan from Fitz in Rockville MD (45 min drive, past 2 other dealers). Best price and non-pressure salesrep. Previous 2 cars from CarMax and I was not expecting a similar buying experience but we were pleasantly surprised. I also compared to USAA's buying service and Fitz was several hundred cheaper out the door price. We did get the $1500 off after faxing my title for a 07 camry that was totaled (which is why we were looking for a replacement).
