  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought a 2024 Elantra in the spring from a Hyundai dealer on opposite side of town due to better deal.

Since car has 3 year free maintenance am I tied to THAT dealer only, or can I go to any Hyundai dealer to get the service done?

We have a dealer that I drive by on the way to work that I rather use.

Dealers make more money from service than they do from new car sales. So it would be a rare dealer that tried to turn you away.

I used to be a BMW owner and was on the BMW owner forums. Even for BMWs there were some complaints that certain dealers would only provide loaners for their customers who purchased the car from them.

You want to be careful forcing yourself onto a dealership for service. it can be a little like getting a "special sauce: at a restaurant after insulting the server.

I have used this dealer in question for my Genesis services so I'm not a "new" customer to them.

Then you should have no problem at all.

It really depends on who the free service is from. If it is a dealer optioned free service, then you will need to go to the dealer that is providing that service. If it a Hyundia free service, then you should be able to go to any Hyundia dealership.

This isn't "free service." It's included service. The charge for it was included in the purchase price of the car...

Still, is the service through the dealer or Hyundia. I had free oil changes with my Hyundia, but it was from the dealer. You would need to ask the dealer you want to use.

It was included by Hyundai. Read the posts here. It was NOT a dealer offer. So it applies to every dealer.
