  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm probably the oldest new guy on the forum. Got my first car in high school in the '70s. A 1969 Camaro convertible. (it cost a whole $1999 at the time!) Summer jobs paid for Hooker headers, Edelbrock intake manifold, Holley 4-barrel carb, Crower cams and an Accell ignition system. Since then I've always had a weekend 'fun' car. Over time I've learned to do engine, body and interior work. Once had a 300 SRT I modded enough to make it into RIDES magazine. Most recent toy was a 2017 Fiat 124 ABARTH Spider. Cold air intake, ECU tune, larger turbo and intercooler, performance coils, big bore exhaust, coil-overs, sway bars, wide low profile wheels, and such. Now I have a 2022 Genesis G70 Sport Prestige Package that just hit 12K on the odometer. I really love the car, but want to bump up the performance just a bit, so I've started collecting parts. I have a JB4 Tuner with bluetooth, new plugs, a Takeda aFe cold air intake package, ADD W1 catch can, and a Mishimoto M-Line intercooler that I plan to fit to the car. Haven't made up my mind on the exhaust yet. Anyways, if you see an smiling, silver haired old dude in a red G70 blow past you in the Dallas area, that was me.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! And I'm really interested in where you'll be going with your Genesis G70. My first car was a 1970 Chevy Nova. $300. :p Boy, have times changed... What kind of power did you have in the Chrysler 300 SRT-8?

I had a 98 Camaro drop top in highschool I miss that car so much! Beautiful red on that g70!

My how times have changed, huh? I'm of similar age. It's hard to believe how fast many of today's cars are, compared to the "fast" cars we grew up with.
Beautiful color! Enjoy.

Seriously, the Toyota Camry does 0-60 in 5.8 seconds...

Thanks for the welcome!

The SRT was a 2014 and it was in the 500 rwhp range. Here are couple pics:

Yeah, what was advertised as a 350CI/350 HP engine in the '69 Camaro was probably closer to 250. And yes, the technology is amazing. On turbo cars, like the Fiat ABARTH and the Genesis G70, the ability to add 20 to 30 percent more horsepower with just an ECU tune is just mind blowing.
