Car Forum activity seems way down everywhere

I have a G70 and noticed the amount of activity is pretty low in the past 18 months. I just bought a new Q7, and the forums over at Audiworld are the same - it's not nearly as active as it was 2 or 3 years ago. Not sure if it's just with some cars - maybe EVs are where all the excitement is.

I've noticed this as well. There isn't as much enthusiasm as there used to be. I'm working on something that should get people interested in things like car shows and meets again. It's been something I'm working on for a long, long, LONG time, and almost ready...

They're spread out everywhere on all different forms of social media.

Facebook and the like is to blame. Similar to how marketplace has destroyed craigslist. It's really a shame.

That is true. I also think the toxicity of some car enthusiasts and the whole EPA crackdown has also taken its toll.

It's too bad. Having consolidated forums is far more useful than having everyone scattered. This happened to the Crownline boat forum as well. There were a bunch of guys that collectively had a ton of knowledge about the boats, so it was a great resource. Now it's a ghost town. A lot of damage was done when Google eliminated the option to search just forums back when people used the Google search plugin in their web browsers.

Have faith! My little endeavor that's been "coming soon" forever will help. It's going to have to launch initially without some of the features I wanted, but it can't wait forever...

Remember when we took the driving test a week or two after 16th birthday?

59.7% of 18 year olds had their driver's license in 2021 (compared to 80.4% in 1983)

I couldn't wait to start driving! It was milestone nowadays its just a chore.
