  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any suggestions for an iOS car locator app that makes use of the advanced features of my 2015 Genesis Ultimate? Or, does BlueLink have something which does the same thing? I confess, I haven't fully explored BlueLink capabilities yet.

There are many apps out there in iTunes, but am not sure which ones really work well.

Bluelink does it, but you have to be within a mile or so of the car. The Remote start etc. works at any distance. If your car is stolen, Bluelink can locate it, shut it down and lock it up.

Yup: Bluelink all the way. Note that Bluelink is actually THREE different services: Connected Care, free for ONE YEAR and what matters of what you get is: Automatic Collision Notification (Your vehicle will automatically call for help so you don't have to worry about a thing.); and a Monthly Vehicle Health Report.

The second service, "Remote Access" gets you: Remote Start (set the engine timer, cabin temperature, or remote stop the engine if you change your mind.) You can also Remote Lock/Unlock, have Blue link help the cops locate and recover your vehicle.

And finally the awesome Destination Search which lets you use your voice to find an address, point of interest or category quickly and easily from the comfort of the driver seat, while keeping your eyes on the open road ahead. as well asd POI Web Search and Download so you can send search results directly to your vehicle via web or mobile app and be on your way.

Note that you only get 3 MONTHS of the last two which, IMHO, are the valuable ones, but the nasty thing is that you HAVE to have Connected Care to get the other two. Each runs $99 a year, so at the end of three months you have to pony up about $214 for both - no discount - or you get a teeny discount for two or three years paid up front. And I suspect that after 9 months of the programs, having used up the free year you have to re-up the Connected Care.

What she said. Plus the way I look at it, after spending $50k for a car, you might as well spend another few hundred dollars per year to get all the bells & whistles that are available with it.
