  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Myissue is that i travel alot so i 99% of the time have my car play on so ican see my maps. how can I get my car play to sound better on the other end of a call? or can i use car play without having it play through usb?

I have a similar issue - and I think it started with the most recent upgrade (oct/nov 2023). For me, the user on the other side of the call gets an echo feedback, where they hear themselves on a 1 second delay. I've seen similar when used with various aftermarket devices to add apple car play (like RS-NAV) but this is the first time seeing on a stock unit.

I don't have a solution - guess I need to wait for the next update?

My service manager asked me if I'm currently using an iPhone because there have been iPhone users reporting the same issue you guys are talking about.

New owner and having same issue after updating to the October '23 Infotainment upgrade. Iphone 15. It only has bad echo for the person on the other end of the call and only when plugged in to USB for car play. Bluetooth works fine.

I have a 2022 GV70b and everything was working fine until the latest update. The only solution I could find at this time was to turn the volume down to 20 while on a call. This seems to work for whoever I am talking to but not ideal for me.

Same issue. Very annoying. Hoping there will be an OTA fix.

I just bought my GV70 and the echo has been from the beginning. The dealer says 'turn down volume' and it will be ok and that it was an Apple issue. That does not work and the echo continues - but not in any other car. Therefore, it appears to be a Genesis issue. Anyone learned anything else please to fix this issue? Or any other problems with the apple car play?

Same issue here, glad I’m not the only one. Not sure of the best way to report the issue to Genesis. Thoughts?

I reported it to Genesis customer service- they tried to troubleshoot but it was a no go. The carplay has other issues too which I reported. The "engineers" are supposedly working on it. She said maybe a day or two. I have heard nothing - not even a confirmation email of my 'claim'.
I see this has been an issue for months and they do not seem to be addressing it. More people need to let them know this is a serious issue.
Please do call and report your issue and have them write it up. 844-340-9741.

Thanks RTD. I’ll update when I make the call.

Thanks RTD. I’ll update when I make the call.
Made the call. As others have said, the quick fix is to turn the volume down to 20 or below. Also said that they plan on fixing it in the next update, which was “hopefully soon“

I have been informed by Genesis (corporate) that they know this is an issue. Please call and report it as the more people that do might speed up the 'fix'. I was told that they are trying to find a solution and when they do they will then do a 'recall'.

You'd think but I'm just quoting the representative. fingers crossed that we get something soon.

3/19 from Genesis: Regarding the apple car play, we were able to get information from Service Engineering. Please see below:
They are aware of the concern and a fix is coming, but TBD on the timing, owners will be notified once available. This is only affecting Apple CarPlay users for Premium Gen 6 vehicles. We currently recommend owners to reduce their volume to 20 while using CarPlay or use Bluetooth to do hands free calls.

3/29 From Genesis: Thank you so much for your feedback and we are sorry to hear of the concerns you are experiencing. At this time, Genesis is aware of the reported concern and is working on a fix that will be released late or early April.
For the time being we recommend reducing the volume to 20 while using car play or using Bluetooth to do hands-free calls.

4/5 I noticed a software update last night and I tested it this morning and the echo appears to be gone. Hope it is for everyone else too.

Thank you RTD. Is this an automatic OTA update or do I need to do the USB update?

Should be automatic.

Go to Setup --> General --> SW Info/Update and check status there.
