Car Shortage is pretty severe

I've been reading about the chip shortage causing a car shortage, but seeing it in person is a bit shocking. I went to the Audi dealer today to get an air filter and there were 6 cars on the lot. Normally, It's hard find a parking place. The dealer looks like it's going out of business. I asked the parts guy about it and he said that they are only getting cars they custom order for customers and it takes 4 to 6 months. He also mentioned that Audi is only shipping cars with one key.

One of my best friends sells Toyotas. His dealer is the largest in Central Ohio, and they normally have over 500 vehicles in two different lots. Two weeks ago when I talked to him they had 31 new cars.

This Ford dealer has plenty fo cars on his lot. Not sure how fast they are moving though.

This Ford dealer has plenty fo cars on his lot. Not sure how fast they are moving though.

Based on the exposure length and the likely chemical composition of the photographic emulsion, the cars in that photograph are moving at 0 mph.

As of this morning, we have 21 new Hyundai's, and 33 new Genesis. Typically have around 300 new Hyundai's, and 50-60 new Genesis. We only have I think around 40 new Hyundai's coming in in the next 4-6 weeks. So yeah, slim pickings if you want a new one. We are still selling 50-60 new Hyundai's, and about 25-30 new Genesis a month.
