  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

so long story short my 2013 hyundai genesis with fresh wheels and tires and 155k got total.

USAA initially only give me 7100 for it, fought tooth and nails to get 8500, the market price is 12k and above (with about 50-60k less mile than mine) not sure if I am still getting ripped off or not. anyone in the insurance industry or deal with insurance, feel free to chimed in.

I was going to get an independent evaluator, but I'm not sure how much more I can get out of USAA and then have to pay the evaluator, thought maybe I should just take the semi win and call it a day

As you said, with 50-60k less miles. That is a lot less miles. Once you clear the 100k mark, the value really drops off quickly. Aside from the wheels and tires, $8500 seems reasonable. Also depends on what condition it was in before being wrecked. I think you would be lucky to get another 1k if you keep fighting. Probably not worth it.

That's depressing, I been with USAA for 19 years and first time in auto accident, at no fault of my own and I had to fight to get 8500

6 months ago, you probably would have got a couple grand more. Used car prices have come down.

My former totalled '12 at 105k paid $10k. Comps were similar.

Sorry but i agree with the payout. $12k for a clean 13 rspec at 155k is overpriced imo. Comps don't support it. Mileage is too high.
