Just wrapped the center console and the center fascia.
Mine's 5.0 Ultimate so there's no wood-grain plastic.

That's what I thought (from looking at your seats). You could probably make a lot of money doing non-Ultimate 2015 Genesis by covering up the their wood-grain plastic. Not sure how many people would want to cover up their real wood. But it certainly looks very nice.

There's no way to work around them. You must take all the parts/covers apart.

Shift knob, housing, lower center console assembly, side crash pads cover, upper crash pad cover, real wood/aluminum panel etc. need to be taken off from the vehicle. Wiring also need to be disconnected.

It is a lot of work for just two trim pieces but it's not too terribly difficult. You just need to be very careful especially when you take the real wood panel off because if you damage the the wood panel, you will have no choice but to wrap the wood panel. They scratch very easily and are made of very weak material (wood, duh). Oh yeah, every single part has 8+ clips and bunch of screws.

In order to wrap them, HVAC module, DIS module, gear select housing/module, cup holder and the cup holder lid need to be removed and disassembled. And then you spend next few hours applying the wrap w/ heat gun and trying to squeeze the parts back into the panel without un-doing the wrap. This is the worst part. Everything fits so tight you have to lightly bend the panels so it wouldn't damage the wrap.



Is it worth the time & hassle?

Absolutely. It looks fantastic with the CF finish. So much better than the stock triangle textured finish.


Would I do this again?

Yes, only if it's my car. I'd never do this to someone else's car. If you pry the wrong spot, it'll either break the wood, damage the aluminum, break the bracket or the clip or all of the above and piss off the owner. lol



Mind you, it's pretty easy if you know what you're doing. I can "now" disassemble all the parts in ~10 minutes and all you need is a few screw drivers.

He didn't wrap the natural wood. That said, while this was very well done, I prefer the more understated, lower contrast, stock textured surfaces - seems more "appropriate" in a luxury car? Carbon fiber (or fake carbon fiber) seems more a fit in a sports car - but that's just me: ymmv. But again, very well executed!

I did not wrap any wood trim pieces.

I actually like the look of the stock ultimate etched design. The carbon does make it look not as luxury and more Porsche wannabe IMHO.
