  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone tried any of the aftermarket cargo covers for their GV70 and if so are you happy with it?

Did yours not come with the cargo cover?

"Come with" is a loose term. Included for $300 or whatever is probably more accurate. Mind did not have one when I bought it.

The accessories that came with the car's "package" from the factory seemed fairly random, last spring when I got mine.

Are you sure you don’t have it. It was not in place when mine was delivered. It was in its storage compartment under the floor near the spare.

If it's not listed on the window sticker under 'Accessory's' then I doubt it was included unless the selling dealer is adding them to each vehicle as part of some add-on pkg of stuff.

Hmmm...I've bought 5 GV70s and they all came with the cargo cover, as well as the all-weather mats and cargo liner too. I'm sure the all-weather mats and liner were perks they threw in, but I believe the cargo cover is a standard provision, up here in Canada anyway.

Some things vary from country to country, I recall seeing it as a line item on some GV70 stickers when I was looking.
Mine has no mention of it, I'll have to take a look & see if it's stashed somewhere (under the floor mat in the rear ??) when I get my car back later this week.

Mine did not come with the cover, listed accessory's were: tow hitch, 1st aid kit, wheel locks & cargo mat.
Personally never been a huge fan of these covers, seems to me having it pulled down screams to thieves there is something in there the owner does not want seen !
More likely to be something of value & not his dirty laundry.

Here are 2 window stickers from the dealer where I got my GV70, 1 has the cover listed the other does not !

As I’ve been searching I find that it’s pretty common for Canadian consumers to receive the cover with their vehicle. It doesn’t seem to be as common in the US.

Mine did not originally come with a cover. I was surprised, so I requested it and the salesperson was going to swap one out of another car for me.
When I went to pick it up, I asked how much. She said not to worry about it, so I got one for free. Apparently, they don't routinely come with one included.

Just as a side note. When I got my Audi Q5 in 2018, I asked about the cover. This too did not come automatically with one and I had to order it.
The salesperson at the time gave me a BS answer about how customers don't really want it and leases often come back with it off.
Give me a break. I actually called him out on it.

My other SUVs that I've bought in the past did come with it as standard.

It was not included in my purchase, but I bought one the day I picked up my car at a 25% discount. I really only use it when suitcase are back there as it severely restricts your cargo space.

Funny thread since when we were looking at the GV70 the salesman made a point out of the cargo cover going into the storage space instead of your front hall closet or garage (we had one in each place, a Lexus in the closet and a Porsche one in the garage..)

We've never actually used it. It did come with the GV70, and the day we put all the usual stuff in the car (flashlights, road-flares, etc.. we're old..) I moved it from mounted in the cargo area to the storage space under the cargo floor.

If we purchase a microwave or a refrigerator or a dishwasher, It will clearly list what comes standard with the equipment including the screw and washer. I think it does not take much efforts for any company to list what come standard with the car and what might be optional. I wonder if it is that they have just not woken up to it or it is beyond the wherewithal of their technology team or perhaps its favorable to their business model to maintain ambiguity.

I would love to find out if the after market cargo covers are any good. Or is Genesis has the same cargo cover for their GV70 20022-2026 or similar.
