  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This high quality ABS trunk spoiler is designed by German tuner Carlsson and manufactured under license in Korea by Carlsson, is made specifically for the 2022 and newer Genesis G70. Available only painted in black, it attaches with high quality automotive grade double-sided adhesive which is included with the spoiler.

Nice! What's the shipping cost to MA?
If you add it to your shopping cart and visit the check out page, you'll see the exact shipping cost to your door. :)

I just did the spoiler and a little trunk badging modification - the spoiler is amazing quality and the badging looks particularly nice against Savile Silver. Now for wheels and suspension!

NOTE: If you do the GENESIS text, be sure to do your own measurement. I had to do it twice because the OEM text positioning isn't correct, it goes up to the right. I verified that on my before and first time after pictures, and on a few pictures I found of other cars on Autotrader. The one attached is correct after measuring it a LOT before final application.

As far as centering, you're technically correct, but looks weird that the camera is not sitting right above the middle of the 'E', which is the middle letter. Ha ha. Both options look equally weird IMO, not to mention ugly, so I suggest you do what most of us already did, which was to delete the letters, and put the beautiful Genesis logo instead :). But I have a suggestion: I bought the one everybody did, which is the OEM rear emblem on 2021 cars, but seems a bit small IMO. Another front one would have been the perfect size to me, and they cost the same. So I'd consider it.

Finally, that spoiler looks super aggressive, so I predict a ton of drag at highway speeds, so expect noticeable decreased fuel economy. Something more subtle would have been better for both aesthetics and drag IMO, but of course to each his own.

...and the Carlsson spoilers are now back in stock. There's only a few available and I'm not sure when they'll be back...

...thank you to those who ordered. We had four in stock. One was purchased the moment I placed them back in stock, and the other three after my post here yesterday. By 10pm, the remaining three were sold. I'm working on getting more and will update here as soon as we have an ETA. We're probably looking at about a month...

...and they're finally back in stock. I know there are several people already waiting - so if you want one, please grab one quickly before they're gone again...

I think alot of people forget (not you) that this is exactly what trunk spoilers are supposed to/designed to do.

"The spoiler raises the downward force on the back of the car increasing both traction and braking ability. Even at higher speeds, drivers have an easier time braking, making driving even safer with the addition of the spoiler. Fuel efficiency can also be affected by adding a spoiler to your vehicle."

Now that I have experience over thousands of miles of mixed driving, including road tripping, it haven't noticed decreased fuel economy. I have noticed that my car looks better every time I look at it though!

BUMP! I've got a few of these in stock for anyone interested in a nice gift for themself. :)

Question for Sal. This spoiler uses double-sided tape. My G70 is ceramic coated.
Does the ceramic interfere with adhesion of the spoiler?
Does any adhesive remain on the paint when and if you remove the spoiler?

Thanks!

Great question. Ceramic coating (or any type of sealants, wax, etc…) will compromise the adhesion of badges and/or spoilers. When removing an emblem or spoiler, WD40 or bug and tar remover will remove any residual film from the double sided tape.

Thanks Sal. I pretty much expected your answer on removing any residual film on removal. Thanks for your answer on having to removing the ceramic coating where the tape will be. I'll have to think it over. The ceramic coating was expensive and I shutter thinking about removing some of it. LOL.

I do really like the look, Sal. Just have to decide whether or not I want to mess with the trunk.

Makes sense to me! Keep in mind that you won't need any ceramic coating beneath whichever spoiler you choose. Whoever installed the ceramic coating should have no trouble removing a section for the installation of the spoiler of your choice. :)

Sal, I talked to my detailer who installed the ceramic coating this morning and he said that it doesn't have to be removed. It's permanent. Any detailer spray/enhancement spray, though, has to be removed.

Will you at any point be getting a carbon fiber rear spoiler/lip for the 2022-2023 G70? I don't want a gloss black so I'll have to look around for carbon fiber.

Hi Bob,

Thank you very much for this information. So it's the non-permanent coatings that are an issue. The ones that can be wiped off. That does make sense. Great to know. Unfortunately, I don't have any good carbon fiber options for the 2022-2023 G70... If I do get anything like that in, I will make an announcement here in the community...

Thanks Sal. I did get a couple of suggestions from KDM customer support. I'll check them out. I also have a black engine cover coming. Thanks for alerting me that they were back in stock.

Sal, you might have been right about ceramic coatings being an issue with double-sided tape. I went to MNSAmerica to look at a trunk spoiler lip they sell, and it clearly states the following. So now I'll have to check again with my detailer friend before buying it. Ceramic coatings are more slick to the touch than untreated paint, so this kind of makes sense.:(:(
"2. If the surface is ceramic coated or has any type of water-repellent coating, the spoiler cannot be installed."
