  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I saw that a thread was posted about having scratchy interference noises when changing drive modes in the car, which is an issue I also had and fixed by turning off the drive mode change display, but I also have a problem almost every single time I plug my phone in to my car. I’ve tried different cables, and have even gotten a new phone in the time I’ve had the car, and nothing has worked. Sometimes it’s worse than others, too. For example, I’ll plug in my phone and either have audio so scratchy I can’t even understand it, somewhat more minor scratchiness, or it’ll work fine. Sometimes, I plug in and hit the CarPlay button and the screen is just black, so I have to unplug and and re-plug my phone. Does anyone else have this issue or something like it?

Yes, I have the same exact issues. Fixed the drive mode change issue by turning off the the display like you did but still having the scratchy audio almost every time I plug my phone into my car and use apple CarPlay. Also experiencing the black screen issue too. Hoping there will be some sort of fix for this either from Apple or Genesis. For now, I just turn off the audio and turn it back on or switch to radio and back to media and the static goes away.

Glad I’m not alone! Definitely a lot easier just turning off and on the audio rather than unplugging and re-plugging the phone like I’ve been doing. Fingers crossed for some sort of fix!

Same! The unreadable scratchiness can be solved by flipping over to the radio and then back to carplay. Wish I knew how to fix the black screen that doesn't involve unplugging. It sounds like a Carplay issue more than anything...

Also, I'll have to shut off the drive mode screen. Is that done through the Setup menu?

Same issues but not all that often, thankfully.

Did not know the drive mode tip. Thanks!
