I have 2016 genesis 3.8 AWD ULTIMATE with 9.2 navigation I am trying to update to CarPlay but it says it not available. Anyone know what to do in this situation. Would 2018 firmware work?

Nope. Can't be done. CarPlay on the G80 9.2 is not possible for any year before 2018. The hardware is different.
