  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Carwow comparison

Yeah but this thread is comparing specific models.
Based on your logic, everyone with subpar dealership experience should never own that brand again.
Which would mean 1/2 of the current Genesis owners stateside since there doesn’t seem to be consistency in the dealership experience unlike here in Canada.

Based on the theory of not owning a car because of a bad dealeship experience, I'd be riding a bicycle. Pick a brand and there are bad dealership experiences. Right now Genesis seems a bit below average but . . . .

My wife swears she will never buy a Kia because of her dealership experience.
Her RX500h should be here any day now!

No. What I'm saying is people have different reasons for liking or not liking a brand.

And no matter how valid or invalid the reason is I understand it because I've seen similar from people.

I may not agree with it. I may think it's unreasonable. But I'll respect thier decision.

Life’s too short to base decisions on other people’s biases and opinions.
I would buy an Alfa tomorrow if they only had an AWD v6 regardless of how bad the parent companies reputation is.
My wife crushed my M2 dreams because it is a 2 door so I had to settle for the M340i even though she gave me the green light for the M3. I just couldn’t justify the $118k CAD spec I wanted.

That's like how I couldn't validate the $25k difference between the G70 and the M340. 😁

For me, I was already moving on from the G70. Plus I wanted an online 6 before it’s too late!
And I only buy new so I had to do it while I could.

Not sure why you’re comparing a non relevant model to the current model of G70 and the 3 series. That’s like saying me 2006 Elantra was shit so I’ll never buy another Korean vehicle again!
What the heck are you talking about man. The E92 M3 was a 3-series, and pretty much feels like the new ones, so it's entirely relevant IMO. And my M3 was shit (and not the 1st one), so I'm not buying another BMW, not another German car; therefore, your other Elantra/Korean analogy doesn't make any sense either. This is not a fanboy thread, so if you just want Genesis praising, go elsewhere, before people start ignoring you for non-sensical arguments;).

Lol. That is why I prefer sleepers. And yea, at my and my wife's heights, 6'4" and 5'10" in our socks, none is sitting back there. It's a couple with door access for back area storage. 😂

That M badge is an invitation for tuner boys 😉

The BMW's do have a level of refinement above the G series, hence the G hasn't displaced them.

Congrats on the M340! Excellent choice.
I think the BMWs “Refinement” is very little more than the G70 I have. My four cars previous to the G70 going backwards were a 2017 BMW 540 M-Sport, 2016 Audi A7, 2015 Audi A7, and 2012 BMW 550 M-Sport.

The 2012 550 felt like a proverbial bank vault. Solid as a rock and felt like every penny I paid for it. The new generation 2017 that was built significantly lighter was not nearly as solid or well put together. The inline six was fabulous, but the rest of the car felt very much on par with my Genesis. That is not bad, just not like the $20,000 more it cost. The A7s were very nice in many ways.

Why compare an E to a G chassis?
Ridiculous comparison when this thread is about comparing current models.
