  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

CEL 2106 came on today. Car went into limp mode for a while. Upon restart engine was fine for a time but then went back to limp mode.
Electronic Throttle Control is the title of CEL. HELP?!?!?!

My 2011 3.8 went into "Limp home mode" about 3 weeks ago.

I had CAA (AAA) take it to the dealer on a flat bed truck.

The computer responds to sensors located thoughout the electrical and mechanical workings of your car.

I thought...here goes agrand or more.

The bill was $44.00

There were a bunch of old codes stored in there over the years and something triggered the computer to go into the mode to protect the engine/transmission

They removed the codes that had accumulated and so far, so good, running A1.

My Car did the same thing yesterday. Just got of the highway and making a right turn on to a roadway. I hit the Gas and nothing. Fortunately there was a parking lot I could pull into and I restarted the engine. The check engine light was on but it got me to the Dealership about 5 miles away. Not sure of what is causing it but I will let you all know.

The problem turned out to be the accelerator pedal assembly. I'm going back to the dealer tomorrow to talk with the mechanics (late pick-up tonight) to get details. Pricey

You can use a pedal off of a Genesis coupe without any issues, which you may be able to find in a junkyard or e-bay for a better price.

So my problem was a bad Throttle Position Sensor. Then the new one failed and they realized it was a Bad Throttle Body. So they replaced that. Everything is now fine. Just drove it to Myrtle Beach from Baltimore and back. Averaged better than 28 mpg at 70 mph.

Glad to hear the problem has been solved guys.
